When an intelligent, sensitive chimp is tranquilized and captured from his home in West Africa and awakens in a militant, prison-like zoo in Washington state, he must overcome fear and his own personal demons to band together with like-minded animals and escape.
OUT THE WA-ZOO is a 45 minute, episodic comedy that aims to explore the animal world within the zoo as never seen before, but anchored in real animal facts. In the past, animated movies have watered down the grim reality of zoos and their inner workings, as well as the animals that are ripped from their lands and made prisoner there. This show aims to explore that dark world in a way that hasn’t been seen before.
